Overview

As Lead Product Designer, I led the complete redesign of Getmyboat’s marketing website, transforming it into a modern, conversion-focused platform that better reflected the brand’s fun and adventurous spirit.

The goal was to evolve the site’s UX and visual design to improve user engagement, drive bookings, and better support Getmyboat’s global growth. This included rethinking navigation, optimizing landing pages, and introducing a more cohesive brand story throughout the site.

Goal

Redesign Getmyboat.com to reflect the new brand identity and improve performance across key metrics: bookings, engagement, and user confidence.

Challenge

Getmyboat’s previous site lacked emotional storytelling, a scalable content structure, and optimized conversion paths. Key challenges included:

  • Inconsistent visual language across pages

  • A homepage that didn’t clearly explain the value prop

  • Low-performing landing pages that weren’t optimized for search or conversions

  • A lack of brand cohesion across web and paid marketing traffic

Approach

Audited and restructured the full site map to support clearer journeys for renters and boat owners

  • Created wireframes and high-fidelity designs in Figma, focusing on usability and conversion

  • Partnered with marketing, brand, and SEO teams to align on messaging, visual tone, and technical needs

  • Partnered closely with the design systems lead to implement an updated design system that supported the new brand and ensured consistency across the redesigned website and future marketing campaigns.

Key Improvements

1. Brand-Forward Homepage

  • Crafted a homepage that clearly communicates Getmyboat’s value, adventure-filled brand personality, and easy-to-use booking flow.

2. Conversion-Optimized Landing Pages

  • Redesigned top pages to support performance marketing and SEO:

    • Added trust elements like testimonials, reviews, and coverage badges

    • Improved hierarchy, CTAs, and on-page education

    • Created multiple layout variants to test and iterate on

3. Global Design System for Web

Collaborated closely with the design systems lead to implement a scalable, brand-aligned design system. I contributed interaction ideas, usability feedback, and helped define layout patterns and component behavior. I also designed the new boat type card component, used throughout the site to improve discoverability and educate prospective renters on the full range of boat types and water activities Getmyboat offers.

Results

Launch Date: March 2024

  • Performance (March–October 2024):

    • +10% YoY increase in gross bookings

    • +11% YoY increase in GMV

    • Saw early signs of improved engagement, including longer time-on-page and lower bounce rates

Homepage Design

Bringing Getmyboat’s adventurous spirit to life through vibrant visuals, simplified search, and a more engaging, conversion-optimized layout. Designed to drive bookings and build trust with both renters and boat owners.

Boat Category Card

Designed a responsive, scrollable card component to help users explore boat types by category, improving discoverability and aligning with the updated visual style.

Landing Page Design

I designed a modular, city-specific landing page template for Getmyboat to support SEO and local discovery. Each page dynamically showcased top boat types, popular listings, nearby locations, and relevant search filters—alongside supporting content like blog links, how-to sections, and FAQs.
